The Story of Jesus

The Story of Jesus

Born in Bethlehem

A long time ago, God sent His Son, Jesus, into the world. Mary and Joseph traveled to a town called Bethlehem, and while they were there, Jesus was born. He was laid in a manger because there was no room in the inn. Angels announced His birth to shepherds nearby, and wise men followed a bright star to bring Him gifts.

Growing Up

Jesus grew up in a town called Nazareth. He learned carpentry from Joseph and loved studying God’s Word. Even as a child, He amazed teachers with His understanding and wisdom.

Jesus Begins His Work

When Jesus was about thirty years old, He was baptized in the Jordan River by John the Baptist. After this, He began His ministry—teaching, helping people, and sharing God’s love everywhere He went.

He chose twelve disciples to learn from Him and help Him teach others.

Jesus Teaches With Stories

Jesus often taught using parables—simple stories with big meanings.
He told stories like:

  • The Good Samaritan, which teaches us to be kind to everyone.
  • The Lost Sheep, which shows how much God cares about each person.

Children loved listening to Him, and Jesus welcomed them, reminding everyone that children are precious to God.

Jesus Shows God’s Power

Jesus performed many miracles:

  • He healed people who were sick.
  • He made blind people see.
  • He calmed a storm with just His words.
  • He fed over five thousand people with a little boy’s small lunch.
  • He even raised people from the dead, showing God’s power over everything.

Wherever Jesus went, He brought hope.

The Last Supper

Before Jesus went to the cross, He shared a special meal with His disciples. He told them He would soon give His life for everyone and that they should remember Him with bread and a cup—symbols of His love and sacrifice.

Jesus Gives His Life

Some people were afraid of Jesus’ teachings and arrested Him. Jesus was put on a cross, even though He had done nothing wrong. He gave His life willingly to take away the sins of the world.

His friends were very sad, and His body was placed in a tomb.

He Is Alive!

Three days later, something amazing happened—Jesus rose from the dead!
The tomb was empty. Angels told His friends that He was alive. Jesus visited His disciples and many others, showing them He had truly risen.

They were filled with joy and hope.

Jesus Goes Back to Heaven

After spending time with His followers and giving them instructions to share His message, Jesus returned to heaven. He promised that He would always be with them in spirit and that one day He would return.

The Heart of Jesus’ Story

Jesus’ life teaches us:

  • God loves every person.
  • Kindness and forgiveness matter.
  • Helping others makes the world brighter.
